A Little About Me for My Students

For those of you who are curious, here is a little bit about myself...

I grew up in Waterboro, ME and went to Holy Cross School in South Portland until I was in 6th grade. In the middle of my 6th grade year, my family and I built a house in Gorham and moved there that summer. I transferred to Gorham Middle School and stayed there for both 7th and 8th grade. From there, I attended Catherine McAuley High School for 4 years and had the best time of my life. At each of these schools and all of the various points in between, I played soccer, basketball and tennis.

When I graduated from McAuley, I moved to Vermont and attended St. Michaels College for 2 years. While at St. Michaels I vounteered for the D.R.E.A.M program and played tennis with the women's tennis team. I also took a job as a part time nanny for 5 year old twin boys which, I believe, primed me for any of life's uncertainties involving young children.

Midway through my Sophomore year, I decided that Vermont was no longer where I wanted to be. So I applied and was accepted at Bates College where I attended for my Junior and Senior years. I loved being back in Maine near my family. Additionally, I was able to get back into my favorite sport: basketball. During my junior year, I was able to make the women's team. I played with them for only a year however, because the very next year I was offered a coaching position at North Yarmouth Academy. I took the position and have been coaching there for 2 seasons now.

Currently, I am student teaching and hope to find a job at the elementary level very soon!
